Kitty Carrasco: Beautician to the dead

KIttyThe first part of Kitty and Cadaver: Not the Zombie Apocalypse will be posted tomorrow. But in the meantime… a little background on Kitty herself, and a video for the curious.

Kitty is a 21 year old Melbourne girl. Orphaned as a baby, she was raised by her grandparents. At the start of Not the Zombie Apocalypse, Kitty works in a Richmond funeral parlour doing make-up for the dead – preparing the dear departed for their final farewells. She loves her job because she likes being able to help people let go of those they loved in the kindest way she can.

On YouTube, US-based make-up artist Sheila Jackson has done a post on Mortuary Makeup for those who are interested in such things. Like me. She talks about US laws, but I imagine similar rules and restrictions apply in Australia.
